Vedic Astrology or Jyotisha is an ancient Indian science that explains planetary motions and positions concerning time and their effect on human life and other components of Earth. Earlier it was only based on the movement of planets concerning stars, but later on, it started including zodiac signs. It can trace thousands of years back incidence.
Vedic Astrology states that there are nine planets, 27 constellations and 12 houses, and each house and planet demonstrates some aspect of human life. This visual representation of the signs and planets is called a horoscope or natal chart. Therefore, Vedic astrology is nothing but interpreting the meaning of these arrangements as it applies to humans and other entities.

Jyotisha or Vedic Astrology has three main branches Siddhanta (Astronomy), Samhita (Mundane astrology), and Hora (Predictive astrology). These branches are further divided into the following sub-branches:
Siddhanta (Astronomy): This describes Astronomy & its application to astrology to know the position of stars.
Samhita (Mundane Astrology): It covers Mundane astrology, forecasting significant events related to nations such as war, natural disasters, political events, financial positions, Vaastu Shaastra, Astro - meteorology, etc.
Hora (Predictive Astrology): This part of Vedic Astrology has the following distinct styles / sub-branches:
Muhurt (Electional Astrology): Selection of
valuable time to initiate an activity to get maximum fruition from the life
activities.
Jataka Shaastra (Natal Astrology): Prediction
based on individual horoscope.
Prashna (Horary Astrology): Predictions based on
a question asked by a querent/querist.
Streejaatak (Female Astrology): A particular
branch of astrology deals with female nativities.
Ankjyotisha (Numerology): This branch of
astrology predicts future events based on numbers.
Tajik Shaastra/Varsha Phal (Annual Horoscopy):
It is astrology based on annual solar returns and movements of stars.
Swar Shaastra (Phonetical Astrology): In this
branch of astrology, predictions are based on the name & sounds of the
person.
Nastjaatakam (Lost Horoscopy): It is an art of
tracing/constructing lost horoscopes.
Jaimini Sutras: A non-conventional method of
Jyotisha for defining the timing of events.

By Flight : The nearest airport is situated in Dehradun known as Jolly Grant Airport. You can book a taxi from the Airport to Kasturi5 Ayuryogsala in Rishikesh.
By Train : There are regular trains to Rishikesh railway station from the whole country. Haridwar is only 25 km far from rishikesh so if you can't find any trains to rishikesh then you can take the train to the haridwar.
By Bus : There are regular busses to Rishikesh from all states surrounding Uttarakhand. volvo bus services are also available to Rishikesh by delhi and lucknow. You can book both government and private busses to reach rishikesh.
By Own Vehicle : Rishikesh is well connected by the roads and highways, so there will be no problem to reach rishikesh by own car or taxi.
